Hey there! I'm Dr. Carter Wong, and I'm thrilled to introduce myself as the Medical Director of San Dimas Pet Clinic. My journey in veterinary medicine has taken me from Ross University to completing my clinical year at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Along the way, I've worked in various practices in Singapore and the United States, spanning general practice to emergency and specialty veterinary hospitals, even pulling some overnight shifts for a spell.
Now, let's talk passion! I am all about feline medicine, soft tissue surgeries, and emergency and critical care. During my time in Wisconsin, I became enamored with the idea of Fear-Free techniques, dedicating myself to training and certification. It's all about understanding our furry friends' feelings and emotions, creating a stress-free environment tailored to each pet's unique personality, and becoming their best friend along the process.
And hey, staying sharp is crucial, right? That's why you'll often find me at conferences and workshops, soaking up the latest in veterinary medicine, both here and abroad.
Beyond the stethoscope, I am fluent in both Mandarin and English and love nothing more than sharing insights about pet health and wellness with my clients.
When I'm not busy with furballs and stethoscopes, you'll catch me whipping up something tasty in the kitchen, jet-setting to new destinations, battling digital foes in video games, hitting the gym, or trying my hand at painting. Oh, and did I mention my two rescued tuxedo cats? They're the absolute loves of my life!
